      Ignite Talk #6: Scratch: Teaching Computational Thinking through Project Design

      Presenter: Shad Wachter, CS/STEAM Teacher, South Fayette Township School District Computational Thinking is the new literacy as students learn to think logically and algorithmically. Using the Creative Computing Curriculum as a guide, students in grades 3-5 at South Fayette Intermediate School learn foundations of programming. The format is quite simple, practice skills through experimentation and play, then apply those skills to larger capstone projects that can be tailored for any classroom. From greeting cards, to storytelling, to video games, students have the ability to express themselves, collaborate, and create. Come see how you can integrate Scratch programming into your classroom.
